Communications Director Tim Hallman reflects on art, connection, and community.
The week Tim Hallman began working at the Asian Art Museum, in 1997, was the same week plans were unveiled for its future home in Civic Center. Hallman, at that time a Public Relations Assistant, sensed a unique opportunity to play a role in something monumental.
Hallman considers his tenure at the museum as truly transformative. He notes that, as a high school senior, he was voted “shyest boy,” yet for nearly 30 years has made a career as the voice of a major public institution. He reflects, “I got to be part of something that stretched me.”
Museums are spaces where you can find ways to understand who you are and your role in the world.
