Celebrate Pride

Happy Pride Month! In June, and all year long, the Asian Art Museum is proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with programs fostering unity and honoring resilience.

Each June, the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade draw over one million people to Civic Center Plaza for the nation’s largest gathering of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Home to the Asian Art Museum, the Civic Center neighborhood served as the destination for San Francisco’s first official pride parade in 1972 and has been ground zero for the city’s pride celebrations for more than 50 years.
